This year I wrote a grant full of fun and educational learning opportunities for my kids. We were able to purchase 3 electric guitars, an electric bass, severa amplifiers, an electronic drum set and some melodicas. I taught the kids how to play piano, melodica, guitar adn some bass and we were the band for some of the beatles songs we performed. At the beginning of the journey, very few of my students knew anything about the beatles. Now, most are fans for life! In the concert, we did versions we created, standard choral versions and even a beautiful accapella version of Yesterday. Our favorite though, was Eleanor Rigby! We dressed in period clothing and had a great night! We charged a canned good for admission and got enough to fill a food pantry for a week.
